The New Americans
John Hewitt is considered the hardest working musician in Alberta. One of the most prolific songwriters in Canada releases 2 -3 albums per year. Running a booking agency and production company (Second Sunset) and managing Edmonton's "Wrecking Crew" The New Americans. The New Americans have toured as John's backing band as well as the curated band for successful shows such as "Picking Up the Pieces: The Songs of Gordon Lightfoot" and "The Life and Times of Jim Croce". The New Americans are rooted in folk/Americana with a hint of Heartland Rock sprinkled in the mix. Without a doubt one of the tightest bands in Canada.
